Okay, so you will soon see that I don’t always go for looks when I’m making food. This is typically the case when I am cooking for myself. When cooking for others I will put in twice the amount of effort (at least) in looks and perfection becuase I can be a perfectionist (but laziness prevails when it comes to impressing myself).
So the “fancy” version of this would actually consist of two slices of bread rather than one (trying to save some calories here…), probably an english muffin or biscuit (yum, butter) instead of ghetto wheat toast (again, trying to be healthy..) and everything would be the same size and perfectly round. Maybe with some bacon thrown in for good measure… because everything tastes good with bacon. And mayo/ketchup/mustard as desired.
However, the main focus of this post is the Turkey Sausage patty (I guess that’s what it is) that I made from scratch. Yes! And it is much easier than you would probably imagine. Throw it on some bread with an egg and you’ve got a breakfast sandwich that is tastier and more guilt free than one from a fast food restaurant. I premake a few patties so putting together one of these in the morning doesn’t take more than 10 minutes (toast bread, make an egg, and heat up sausage).
For those OCD like me and enjoy seeing everything the same shape and size:
This post’s “cooking guide”:
Turkey patties:
Ground turkey
Sour Cream (optional… but keeps the patties moist). 1 cup sour cream for 1 lb of ground turkey.
The following are suggested ingredients to add flavor, you can add your own or mix/match anything here:
Finely chopped onions
Finely chopped garlic
Green Onions
Salt/Pepper
Worcestershire Sauce/Soy Sauce/Teriyaki Sauce
1. Mix everything together
2. Form patties (keeping in mind they shrink a little while cooking)
3. Heat up some oil and cook the patties until meat is cooked through (use your own judgement and do not come after me if you get salmonella!
)
Suggestion: Sometimes I like letting the round turkey “marinate” for a day or so in the fridge before I cook them.

YUM!!!!
And yes, everything DOES taste better with bacon!!!!
But that looks pretty good even w/o the bacon.
[...] in a pan. I know this “guide” is weak, but you get the idea.
Refer to the turkey patty post if you want more ideas… they’re similar enough. [...]
